My Story

I was born and raised in the live music capital of the world, Austin, Texas. My initial dreams were to be a world-famous rapper, known as Rook Deeds (Google me), but knew eventually my passion for music would shift towards helping others that were much more talented than me. Forcing myself into the rap game, I had to learn many things and wear many hats. Teaching myself the basics of freestyling, audio engineering, creating and marketing a brand, then scaling my identity online; all these things shaped me for the next step in my journey as a music entrepreneur. 


During my rap career, I got so fed up with streaming platforms, specifically Soundcloud, due to their lack of benefits to the local artists, that I created my own social streaming platform called TownWave (Google it). This was a 5-year journey that taught me even more about the music business, but what it taught me most was how to face failure and transform into knowledge. We had a great run with TownWave, throwing numerous live events around the country, releasing our app to recruit thousands of artists and thousands of listeners, for it all to come to a screeching halt due to the unpredictable events that followed the pandemic. Throughout my time at TownWave, I learned the everyday struggles of musicians and bands at every level. I found that no one online was trustworthy of knowledge or services, I had to do all my own research and eventually teach myself the skills I wanted to hire others to do. I had to manage and market thousands of musicians individually and provide my industry expertise along the way, and ended up managing a few musicians and bands under my own brand once TownWave came to an end. My goal has always been to help musicians and share my knowledge. 


Throughout the 10-year journey, I became an expert in the field of digital marketing, brand development, live event promotion, and especially online advertising. After a few years of offering my services to a few of my past clients and their referrals, I decided to launch Dalton Does Ads to offer my services to many, and create a seamless platform that allows musicians, bands and brands to quickly promote their message on Youtube with just a few clicks on my website. 


I’ve generated close to 4 million views, 12 million impressions, and almost 25,000 clicks for over a hundred artists on Youtube, spread across all genres of music. I hope that you trust me in getting your message in front of new viewers and look forward to sharing my success with you.
